Junior Engineer - Biomedical Responsibilities: > Contribute to the ongoing operation, availability, application and maintenance of current and emerging biomedical devices, systems and technologies, within FBE India office or client sites and/or region, to support the ongoing delivery of effective services to clients. > Assist, via participation in on the job training, with planned maintenance, inspections and functional checks, to support the effective delivery of preventative maintenance services for biomedical devices and systems. > Assist with the identification of issues and the reporting and recording of trends arising from recurring repairs and failure rates, to support the address of operational risks. > Assist with the monitoring of device and system performance, including maintaining appropriate records to support this process. > Assist with, or undertake as required, the management of stock control, including recording the usage of spare and additional parts that are required for devices and systems, to contribute to the effective operation of the business unit. > Assist with assigned technical projects, and associated activities and functions that meet the Unit’s objectives, to support service delivery and improvement objectives. > Contribute, under supervision, to the remedial maintenance program for biomedical devices and systems, including undertaking technical repairs and sourcing spare equipment, where required, to support the continued effective operation of equipment. > Assist with assessing the value of making repairs to devices and systems, as directed, including examining the economic viability of maintaining or replacing devices and systems, and making recommendations on the appropriate action to be taken. > Contribute to the maintenance of effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, to support service delivery outcomes and objectives. > Contribute to quality and risk compliance activities and requirements, as directed, to support the delivery of safe and effective services to clients. > Assist with, or undertake as required, the development of schedules, programs and procedures for planned maintenance, to meet business operational goals and objectives. > Assist with communications with clients to ensure they are kept informed of remedial and preventative maintenance services. ESSENTIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Those characteristics considered absolutely necessary) Educational/Vocational Qualifications Engineer > The incumbent must have done Engineering or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering and must have 3-4 years of relevant experience. > The incumbent must have done Engineering or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering. Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills > Sound written and verbal communication skills including the capacity to undertake liaison with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders. > Ability to consistently perform work of appropriate quality, maintain productivity and organise activities to meet deadlines with demonstrated enthusiasm and flexibility of approach in order to meet changing requirements and situations. > Possess drive, initiative, willingness to learn new skills and capacity to work with a decreasing level of technical supervision as experience is acquired. > Demonstrate an interest in technology support activities Experience > Experience in technical activities or hobbies Knowledge >* Basic knowledge in a related technical area. >* Basic knowledge of the clinical application and technical aspects of biomedical devices and systems. >* Basic understanding of regulatory requirements and practices as they relate to biomedical devices and systems. DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS (To distinguish between applicants who have met all essential requirements) Educational/Vocational Qualifications > Relevant trade or technical qualifications. Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills >* Experience in contributing to projects. Experience > Experience in the delivery of technical services. > Experience in analysing and resolving technical issues for mechanical or technological equipment and systems. > Experience in working within an environment in which client and staff safety is paramount. Knowledge > Knowledge and understanding of the relevant Indian and International Standards and Codes.
