The Alexa Data Services(ADS) team is part of Amazon’s speech platform organization that provides speech recognition capabilities for a variety of Amazon products and searches, most visibly, the Amazon Echo product.
At ADS, we are looking for a data driven, analytical Business Analyst to join the team in the Business Intelligence team. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for building business intelligence reports and analysis to uncover insights into performance, quality and build tools that support and automate day-to-day decision making for multiple internal and external to ADS stakeholders. You will be working in state of the art BI and large scale data systems to solve business challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Work with business teams to build and recommend data and business intelligence solutions that help their day-to-day operations and strategic decision.
· Define and recommend the data structures and attributes to Data engineering team that help measure and drive business goals.
· Be hands-on with SQL to build analyses and contribute to the better understanding of our customer behavior
· Help us setting direction and build the future of our metrics and reporting
· Invent and innovate – Tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations
· Design and develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational dashboards, scorecards and reporting for the organization
· Work closely with various stakeholders to define the information needed and how best to present it
· Support leadership with timely recurring and ad-hoc analysis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Information systems or related technical field
· 5+ years of professional experience in analytics, business analysis or comparable consumer analytics position
· Advanced working and hands-on knowledge of SQL
· Proficiency in Excel (including VBA, Pivot Tables, array functions, Power Pivots, etc.)
· String experience on at least one data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, OBIEE, QlikView)
· Proven track record of delivering actionable insights under time pressure in a highly resource constrained environment
· Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to work with business owners to define key business questions and build data sets that answer those questions.
· Experience working with leadership with the ability to present the key findings.
· Proven track record working with large cross functional teams with the ability to independently execute the delivery
· 5+ years of professional experience in analytics, business analysis or comparable consumer analytics position
· Advanced working and hands-on knowledge of SQL

· Experience using scripting tools like Python/Shell is a plus
· Excellent verbal/written communication & data presentation skills and the ability to succinctly summarize key findings and effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
