The Amazon Business team is hiring a seasoned Software Engineers to design and develop next generation integration and communications platforms that are easier to use, faster to configure and on-board friction free with new external systems and help manage ongoing operations. This team will allow large businesses to gracefully move to Amazon Business without adversely changing their procurement processes.
Amazon Business is one of Amazon’s fastest growing new initiatives focused on building solutions to enable business customers to research, discover and buy business, industrial and scientific products in large catalogs; across multiple devices, marketplaces and regions. Our customers include individual professionals, businesses and institutions that buy in either high frequency or in bulk quantities. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
· 5+ years of software development experience.
· Proficiency in object oriented languages like C, C++, Java or other similar programming languages
· Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, object-oriented design, algorithm design and problem solving.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership
· Works well in a fast-moving team environment and is able to effectively drive cross-team solutions having complex dependencies and requirements
· Knowledge of Machine Learning, model development, model validation and model implementation.
· 5+ years of software development experience.
· Proficiency in object oriented languages like C, C++, Java or other similar programming languages
· Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, object-oriented design, algorithm design and problem solving.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership
· Works well in a fast-moving team environment and is able to effectively drive cross-team solutions having complex dependencies and requirements
· Knowledge of Machine Learning, model development, model validation and model implementation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
· Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
· Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
· Experience influencing software engineers best practices within your team
· Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
· Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
· You must be obsessed with addressing customer needs
· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and to think strategically
· Ability to deal with ambiguity and innovate and simplify
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
